JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (WJHL) — A Johnson City man accused of robbing and harming a victim with a screwdriver was arrested in Knox County.

According to the Johnson City Police Department (JCPD), Taylor McClain, 32, was taken into custody on Monday and charged with aggravated robbery.

The JCPD stated in a news release that officers were called to an alleged assault shortly before 1:30 p.m. The incident reportedly occurred in a parking lot in the 500 block of N State of Franklin Rd.

Responding officers met a victim who had “several visible minor injuries,” according to the release.

The victim claimed McClain had assaulted him with a screwdriver and taken his wallet before leaving the scene. The victim gave a description of McClain to police.

The JCPD obtained a warrant for McClain’s arrest. He was later arrested by the Knox County Sheriff’s Office, and JCPD officers traveled to Knox County to take him into custody.

He was then transported to the Washington County Detention Center.
