WASHINGTON COUNTY, Tenn. (WJHL) — The Washington County Tennessee Sheriff’s Office (WCSO) arrested a man wanted out of Greene County after an alleged pursuit Monday.
According to the WCSO, Cody William Browder, 34, was wanted on multiple felony charges out of Greene County. Deputies reportedly found Browder on Monday afternoon at the Bowmantown Ruritan.
A news release from the WCSO states that when deputies attempted to take Browder into custody, he fled in a vehicle down Barkley Road.
Browder allegedly hit a mailbox and a WCSO cruiser during the pursuit and headed back toward Bowmantown Road.
Following a brief chase, deputies were able to execute a PIT maneuver in the 200 block of Bowmantown Road. As a result, Browder’s vehicle hit a power pole, the release states.
The WCSO took Browder into custody and charged him with felony assault against a first responder, evading arrest, reckless endangerment, driving under the influence and reckless driving. He was transported to Washington County Detention Center.
As of Tuesday morning, Browder was being held on a $71,000 bond. He was set to appear in court Tuesday.
