RICHMOND COUNTY, Ga. () – The Richmond County Sheriff’s Office has arrested a man wanted for questioning in reference to a homicide that happened in November.

According to authorities, the Richmond County Sheriff’s Office, along with the Burke County Sheriff’s Office, responded to the 500 block of 8th Street in Waynesboro in reference to locating De’Narian Cobb, 25, of Waynesboro, who was one identified as being wanted for questioning in reference to the death of Chavious Kemmerlin, 50, of Augusta.

On Thursday, November 21st, at 7:13am, the Richmond County Sheriff’s Office responded to the 500 block of Highland Avenue in reference to shots being fired, and when they arrived, deputies say they observed an unresponsive male, later identified as Kemmerlin, who had sustained at least one gunshot wound.

Authorites say Cobb was taken into custody without incident, and during the interview, investigators found enough probable cause was established to obtain a warrant for the murder of Kemmerlin.

Webster Detention Center on the charges of Murder, Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Crime and Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon.
