SCOTT COUNTY, Va. (WJHL) — A Southwest Virginia man was arrested after a joint operation in Scott County on Friday.

According to a news release from the Scott County Sheriff’s Office (SCSO), deputies worked alongside deputies with the Russell County Sheriff’s Office (RCSO) to apprehend Shannon Eugene Hall, 40, of Dante.

The SCSO reports Hall had been living in the Fort Blackmore area of Scott County. Investigators conducted surveillance on a home near Fort Blackmore and later conducted a traffic stop on people who lived there.

That traffic stop reportedly led investigators to Hall, who was arrested without incident at the Fort Blackmore home.

“Hall had been wanted out of Russell County on a Failure to Appear Capias and probation violations stemming from a 2006 shooting incident in Russell County,” the release states. “Hall had failed to appear in court on October 11, 2022 and a Capias had then been issued for his arrest.”
