North Augusta Public Safety arrests man after short standoff

NORTH AUGUSTA, S.C. () – A man is facing charges after a short standoff in North Augusta on Thursday.

According to police, dispatchers with North Augusta Public Safety received a 911 call at approximately 3:20 p.m. on June 19 in which a man and a woman were reportedly heard arguing.

Officers allege the man threatened to shoot the victim and law enforcement if authorities arrived. Once law enforcement arrived on scene, police said the man ran into an apartment. Due to the circumstances, the SWAT team was called.

The suspect, who was identified as 27-year-old Huzavier Derrez Davidson, surrendered after about 15 minutes, police said. Davidson was then arrested for Criminal Domestic Violence and was transported to the Aiken County Detention Center.

According to North Augusta Public Safety, Davidson will face more charges.
