Man who ‘scooted’ away with scooter from Bloomington store being sought

BLOOMINGTON, Ill. (WMBD) — The Bloomington Police Department is asking for help locating a man who hopped on an electric scooter and drove it out of a local retail store.

On Saturday, May 31, a man walked into a retail store and got on an electric scooter before he “scooted” through the checkout lane and out the door before driving away in a dark-colored four-door vehicle, a post on the Bloomington police’s Facebook page.

Surveillance video caught the man, and he is described as a thin build with black and gray tattoos on both forearms shaved dark hair and a small pencil thin mustache, according to the post.

He is pictured wearing a white/blue plaid shirt and dark-colored jeans, and he may frequent areas near Champaign and Urbana, the post said,
