JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (WJHL) — Authorities in Johnson City are on the hunt for a man they say opened fire on three individuals following a dispute in the downtown area over the weekend.
The Johnson City Police Department (JCPD) reported that officers were dispatched early Sunday morning at 2:18 a.m. after receiving reports of gunfire.
Upon investigation, it was revealed that the incident stemmed from an argument between two groups in the parking lot of the Pavilion at Founders Park, culminating in a male suspect discharging a firearm at three people.
Fortunately, no injuries were reported, as confirmed by the JCPD.
Thanks to the aid of Flock camera technology, authorities were able to identify the suspect as 20-year-old Domynik Smith from Erwin. Consequently, a warrant has been issued for his arrest on charges including three counts of aggravated assault and illegal possession of a handgun by a convicted felon, according to the JCPD.
Smith had not been arrested as of Thursday afternoon.
