(NewsNation) — Following a high-profile online dispute with former President Donald Trump, Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene has announced she will step down from her congressional position, effective January 5.

The Georgia Republican, who began her term on January 3, 2021, will have completed five years and three days in office by the time she departs—just surpassing the minimum service duration required to qualify for a congressional pension.
