SAVANNAH, Ga. () — On Friday evening, the local community took center stage to support a sexual assault center by participating in a fundraising event.
Mary’s Place Sexual Assault Center of the Coastal Empire organized its Fourth Annual “Find Your Voice” Lip Sync Competition, which took place at Victory North.
The gathering united local leaders and residents for a lively night filled with music, entertainment, and a shared commitment to advocacy.
Event organizers noted that participants courageously stepped out of their comfort zones to deliver energetic performances, successfully raising significant funds for the nonprofit.
“It truly touches my heart, because many of these individuals aren’t natural performers, yet they’re stepping out of their comfort zones for the sake of Mary’s Place,” remarked Executive Director Doris Williams. “We named it ‘Find Your Voice’ to inspire our survivors to discover their voices throughout their healing journey and to enhance our prevention education efforts.”
The event also featured a silent auction and crowd voting. Winners took home the “Crystal Mic” and “Crowd Favorite” awards. ’s Kim Gusby served as one of the judges.
All money raised during the event will go towards support survivors of sexual assault and funding prevention education programs.
