MOWEAQUA, Ill. — The Shelby County Sheriff’s Office has confirmed significant changes within the Moweaqua Police Department. According to Sheriff Brian McReynolds, the police chief and all officers have stepped down, leaving the department without any staff.
The resignation of Police Chief Christopher Hale, announced last Friday, marks the latest departure in what has been a gradual exodus over the past few months. Village of Moweaqua Mayor Angela Locke shared this information, highlighting the ongoing challenges faced by the department.
