In the heart of Candler County, Georgia, a dedicated educator is being celebrated for his remarkable impact on the lives of his students. Victor Fordham, a respected social studies teacher at Metter High School, has been announced as one of the 10 finalists for the prestigious 2027 Georgia Teacher of the Year award.

Fordham’s commitment to education and his unwavering dedication to his students have not gone unnoticed. Previously, he was honored with the titles of Candler County School District Teacher of the Year and Metter High School Teacher of the Year for the 2025–2026 school year. His leadership extends beyond the classroom as he also heads the social studies department.

For Fordham, teaching is not just about imparting knowledge; it’s about nurturing future leaders. He emphasizes the importance of developing his students into well-rounded, responsible citizens capable of realizing their full potential.
