EL PASO, Texas (Border Report) – Mexican authorities have expelled an American citizen wanted on drug charges and other crimes in the United States.

Agents with the National Migration Institute (INM) and the Chihuahua state police late Saturday handed to U.S. authorities at the Stanton Street Bridge in El Paso a woman identified only as Kasey S.

The 44-year-old woman allegedly fled the U.S. to avoid prosecution on a charge of importation of narcotics and organized criminal activities, Chihuahua police said.

Law enforcement officers in Juarez, Mexico, received information as part of a binational cooperation agreement with the U.S. to locate the fugitive.

Photos provided by the Chihuahua Attorney General’s Office show Customs and Border Protection officers, Drug Enforcement Administration and Homeland Security Investigations agents taking custody of the fugitive in the middle of the international border crossing.

“The Attorney General’s Office thus reaffirms its commitment to collaborate and participate in binational actions to combat and eradicate high-threat crimes,” the Chihuahua AG’s Office said in a statement.

Mexico does not release the full name of suspected criminals.
