Mia Goth Files for Divorce From Shia LaBeouf After Nearly 10 Years

LOS ANGELES – Mia Goth has filed for divorce from Shia LaBeouf, ending a marriage that began nearly a decade ago.

The divorce petition, filed Tuesday in Los Angeles County Superior Court, says Goth, 32, and LaBeouf, 40, have been separated since July 2025.

The actors met while working on “Nymphomaniac: Vol. II” in 2012 and began a relationship soon afterward. They married in 2016, later announced a split and said they were divorcing in 2018, but remained legally married. The pair reunited in 2020 and welcomed a daughter in 2022.

Goth is asking for primary legal and physical custody of their 4-year-old daughter, while seeking visitation for LaBeouf. She has also asked the court to deny spousal support to both parties. The marriage was the first for each actor.

The filing lists irreconcilable differences, a standard legal reason cited in many U.S. divorce cases, as the cause of the separation.

Representatives for Goth and LaBeouf did not immediately respond to requests for comment.

Goth, whose birth name is Mia Gypsy Mello da Silva Goth, was born in London. She most recently appeared as Melantho, an unfaithful servant, in this summer’s “The Odyssey” and played a dual role in last year’s “Frankenstein.” She is also known for starring in the horror trilogy “X,” “Pearl” and “MaXXXine.”

LaBeouf began his career as a child actor on the Disney Channel series “Even Stevens” and in the 2003 movie “Holes.” He later appeared in “Indiana Jones and the Crystal Skull” and the first three “Transformers” films directed by Michael Bay.

Goth’s divorce filing came one day after LaBeouf settled, for a second time, a lawsuit brought by singer, songwriter and actor FKA Twigs, whom he dated while he and Goth were separated.

FKA Twigs, whose legal name is Tahliah Barnett, alleged in a 2020 lawsuit that LaBeouf emotionally and physically abused her during their relationship. They met while she had a supporting role in “Honey Boy,” the semi-autobiographical film LaBeouf wrote and starred in.

The lawsuit was settled and dismissed last year. Barnett sued LaBeouf again in March, arguing that nondisclosure provisions in the settlement unlawfully prevented her from speaking under California law.

On Monday, she asked the court to dismiss the second lawsuit, saying in court documents that LaBeouf had agreed to void the nondisclosure provisions.

In June, LaBeouf was sentenced to probation after pleading guilty to punching three people outside a New Orleans bar during Mardi Gras.
