JONESBOROUGH, Tenn. (WJHL) – A vibrant gathering unfolded in the Tri-Cities as community members came together to celebrate and cheer on several aspiring contestants preparing for the upcoming Miss Tennessee pageant.
The event held at Lincoln Park on Saturday evening saw “Miss” and “Teen” titleholders from Miss Johnson City, Miss Historic Jonesborough, and Miss State of Franklin join in the festivities.
Attendees expressed their support and extended well-wishes to the contestants, who are eagerly anticipating the chance to earn the titles of Miss Tennessee and Miss Tennessee Teen at the upcoming competition at Belmont University in Nashville.
In an interview with News Channel 11, J.C. Sizemore, the current Miss State of Franklin, shared her excitement and gratitude for being part of this talented group of contestants representing the region.
Sizemore discussed with News Channel 11 the potential impact of winning the competition, emphasizing the positive outcomes it could bring for herself and those she represents.
“It means that we were selected and we all competed for a local title, and so we have what’s called a community service initiative. With that community service initiative, we all have something near and dear to our hearts. We go out in the community, we serve our community, and we pretty much put our best foot forward and explain to the judges why we deserve the title of Miss Tennessee. In order to take our community service and make it statewide.”
The competition starts June 15, and a winner will be crowned on June 20.
