Montrose firefighters respond to two vehicle rollovers on I-70 E

MONTROSE, Ill. (WCIA) — The Montrose Fire Protection District responded twice on Wednesday to instances of vehicles flipping over on Interstate 70 East.

District officials posted about each crash on Facebook. The first happened at 7:17 a.m. near milepost 109. The Montrose FPD and Greenup Ambulance responded and found a semi-truck flipped over in the median.

“All patients self-extricated,” officials said. “Crews assisted the driver to the ambulance for examination. All units were back in service at 8:40.”

12 hours later, at 8 p.m., the Montrose FPD and the Teutopolis FPD responded to another vehicle rollover at milepost 106. A pickup truck hauling an RV had also rolled into the median.

“Crews arrived on scene and began extrication of two patients as well as two dogs,” officials said. “Both patients were transported by Greenup Ambulance for minor injuries.”

Crews left the scene of that crash an hour later.
