MrBeast fans seek refunds after event

LAS VEGAS (KLAS) – A crowd of frustrated “MrBeast” fans gathered Tuesday in Las Vegas to demand refunds for a three-day experience.

The Resorts World Las Vegas experience, which cost approximately $1,000, was held April 13-15 in partnership with the popular YouTuber and entrepreneur, also known as Jimmy Donaldson.

The deal, which was advertised as “immersive” and “unforgettable,” has now been taken off the hotel’s website.

“It should have been like mini-games, meet and greets, photo ops, special drinks, and things,” said Theresa Metta, who traveled to Las Vegas with her mother. “Unfortunately, we didn’t get any of that.”

Multiple guests, including Metta, told Nexstar’s KLAS that the hotel’s front desk informed them at check-in that they should stay in their room to wait for a mystery arrival. Some guests said they camped in their hotel rooms for 24 hours or more awaiting a surprise.

“I was told to wait in my room for two days for a package to come, so I legit spent two days in my room for a package to come, and it was a box of chocolates.”

Guests were also each promised a mystery bag. Many, including Metta, complained about the contents of the mystery bag.

“It had kids’ shorts, an extra small shirt, a hat, and a medium shirt,” she said. “If you go to Mrbeast.store to their merchandise right now, all this stuff is on clearance for $9. We were told we’d get exclusive merch. Obviously, that’s not the case.”

Some superfans are disappointed by management’s response. Mother Desiree Pineda told KLAS that Monday was her son’s birthday, adding that he is a MrBeast superfan.

“I was just trying to give him the best experience, and unfortunately, as a parent, I feel like I failed him,” she expressed.

Pineda was very vocal with Resorts World Las Vegas CEO Alex Dixon, asking him to do more for upset guests.

Multiple guests, including Metta, told 8 News Now, that they were informed by the hotel’s front desk at check-in that they should stay in their room to wait for a mystery arrival. Some guests shared they camped in their hotel rooms for 24 hours or more awaiting a surprise. (KLAS)

“Their ultimate resolution all across the board was $50 food and beverage credit for two different outlets,” which she said is not enough. “This experience has been nothing short of horrible.”

Although some customers were willing to still pay the resort’s regular nightly fee of $79, many wanted a refund for what they paid for the experience itself.

Following the group’s pleas with the CEO, a handful of attendees exchanged contact information and shared with KLAS that they want to file a lawsuit against the hotel to get their money back.

“If Jimmy is part of this, I hope he feels good for scamming a whole bunch of adults and their children,” said Abigail Marquez, an attendee who traveled in from Los Angeles for the experience. “That’s how you get subscribers? Cool.”

KLAS reached out to MrBeast’s team for comment and was awaiting a response.
