Former Prince Andrew found himself in an unprecedented situation as he was treated like a “common criminal” during a grueling 11-hour stint in police custody. This episode, described by a retired UK detective as an “extraordinary fall from grace,” marks a significant downturn for the once-revered royal.
Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor had planned a quiet celebration of his 66th birthday at home, accompanied only by his seven dogs. However, his plans were abruptly altered when authorities arrested him on charges of misconduct in public office. He is accused of allegedly sharing confidential documents with his controversial associate, Jeffrey Epstein.
The younger brother of King Charles found himself subjected to standard treatment for suspects during his time in custody. This included providing DNA samples, fingerprints, and even having a mugshot taken, as reported by the Sun.

Reflecting on the situation, Mick Neville, a retired detective chief inspector, commented, “I doubt whether the police offered him tea in a bone china cup. The meals served in custody centers are typically unpleasant.” Neville added, “It’s an extraordinary fall from grace.”
