Nationwide Recall Alert: White Castle Sliders Under Scrutiny

TAMPA, Fla. (WHTM) — The U.S. Food & Drug Administration (FDA) has issued a nationwide recall for over 1,000 cases of White Castle’s Original Sliders due to a packaging error that could pose an allergen risk.

The recall involves 1,021 cases of the frozen 4-count cartons of Original Sliders, as announced by White Castle’s Frozen Food Division. The concern arises from undeclared milk and soy, which are present in some packages.

In an unexpected twist, some of the cartons labeled as Original Sliders actually contain Jalapeno Cheese Sliders. This mix-up is problematic because the potential allergens, milk and soy, are not listed on the Original Sliders packaging.

The sliders in question were distributed to retailers between August and October 2025. The FDA warns that these products were primarily sold in convenience stores and might have reached all 50 states.

White Castle Original Sliders included in the recall are marked with UPC# 0-82988-02969-3, and the lot codes of the recalled product are either 9H203521 and 9H203522.

They will also have a Best By Date of April 18, 2026.

It should be noted that only sliders marked with the above lot codes are included in this recall, and any product that does not include all eight characters of the lot codes are not included in the recall.

According to the FDA, this packaging error was discovered when a customer notified White Castle that they suffered a non-life-threatening allergic reaction after consuming one of the mispacked Jalapeno Cheese Sliders.

No other reported of injury or illness have been received.

Moving forward, consumers who purchased the recalled sliders are being asked to return them to the place of purchase for a full refund.
