TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) — New and unique modular homes are now available in Tampa with affordability and accessibility in mind.
Real estate expert and star of Netflix’s “Selling Tampa,” Juawana Colbert, is selling the newest affordable housing option in Tampa. The modular homes built by RSL Homes are now available with seniors, veterans, students and developers in mind. Colbert believes the project could change the landscape of affordable housing options.
“It’s almost like a small house, like an apartment,” Colbert said. “They have their own space, bathroom, bedroom. In terms of pricing and how quickly they are able to get it, it makes it more appealing. This particular unit for everything, $180,000 delivered to you on your property.”
The one-bedroom modular manufactured home is 590 sq. ft. There is also a two-bedroom option that is nearly 1,000 sq. ft. The homes are hurricane-resistant and delivered in 90 days.
Seniors, veterans and even students could apply and qualify for loan programs to help with down payment assistance and the home itself.
Colbert said the new idea is also a great opportunity for developers to create communities that will ultimately help people’s pockets.
“This unit is great for developers,” she said. “This unit stackable, so you can make a small apartment complex, you can make a small community. I want them to keep an open mind. It’s not maybe what you thought about what modular homes look like where it’s broken down or you think of container homes. It’s customized and manufactured for really living in the space.”
Colbert had her first showing of the modular homes on June 7th. However, there is another open house taking place on June 22 from 9 a.m. to noon.
The tours are taking place at 2001 Saxon St, Tampa, FL. For more details on the home, one could reach out via phone or email: 813-686-0262 or modularsolutionsrsl@gmail.com.
