New book tackles the lies women tell themselves

A new book is out, and it’s all about helping women stop running from life’s hardest moments. The Runner’s Lie: 10 Lies Women Tell Themselves To Avoid Life’s Challenges is written by Angel Charmaine, who joins the conversation with a message of truth and empowerment.

“The book came from me being a runner—not just physically, but running from the hard things in life,” Angel Charmaine says. “Once I faced my truth, I started to live free. This book is the fruit of that work.”

The book breaks down ten common lies women tell themselves, starting with the biggest one:

“I’m okay.” she explains. “Oftentimes we’re not. But we’re afraid to say it.”

Other lies include thinking no one cares or that you’re supposed to be superwoman. Angel says these false beliefs hold women back from fulfilling their purpose.

“If you’re not living in truth, you’re not living out who God called you to be,” she says. “You have to acknowledge the truth to be free.”

The Runner’s Lie isn’t just about reflection—it’s a guide to action. Readers are encouraged to sit still, face their fears, and connect with people who care.

She’s also on a book tour, starting in Aiken County at Mount Zion Missionary Baptist Church. The tour includes readings, book signings, and women’s events. Full details are available at angelcharmaine.com.

“The number one truth I hope every woman takes away is that you are not alone,” she says. “These are 10 lies almost every woman has said. I want readers to see themselves in the book and know that at least one woman truly understands.”
