AUGUSTA, Ga. () – Phinizy Swamp Nature Park has introduced a new requirement for photographers conducting business on its grounds: an annual permit. This new policy, which took effect at the start of the year, aims to regulate commercial photography activities within the park.
As announced in a post on Phinizy Swamp’s Instagram account on January 31, the Phinizy Center for Water Sciences now mandates that anyone engaged in photography for business purposes must secure a valid Photography Permit. This move is designed to ensure that all commercial activities are properly managed and accounted for within the park.
The park has clearly outlined that a “photography business” includes any venture where individuals are compensated for taking photos within the park’s premises. This encompasses commercial photographers, media professionals, and those involved in content creation for profit.
However, the park’s new policy does not extend to parents and teachers who are capturing moments with their children or students. These groups are exempt from needing a permit, allowing them to continue enjoying their visits without additional requirements.
Parents and teachers taking pictures of their children and students are not required to have a permit.
