NEWMAN, Ill. (WCIA) — Corn Crib of Newman is set to shut its doors for good next month, but not without offering its customers one last hurrah.
In a Facebook post on Saturday, the family-owned restaurant announced that it would be closing on June 15. They also said as they prepare for their last day of service, things will start to look different in the coming weeks.
Starting on May 19, the restaurant will be closed every Monday and Tuesday. Their hours will stay the same for Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Sunday, but with limited menu and seating options. Additionally, the dining room service will no longer be available on Saturdays, and the bar will open in the afternoon and stay open until 1 a.m. with limited bar menu offerings.
“Owning a business that brought the community together was a job of joy and the idea that we were the background to so many of your memories will fill our hearts with gratitude long after our doors close for good,” the restaurant said.
However, Corn Crib of Newman will be hosting one final Freedom Festival weekend. The celebration will include live music, karaoke, cold drinks and more. Any rentals scheduled from now until June 15 will be honored and fully operational.
The restaurant’s Facebook page will continue to post updates in its final weeks.
