Actor Nick Offerman to perform at Millikin University

DECATUR, Ill. (WCIA) — Parks and Rec star Nick Offerman is coming to put on a show at Millikin University next month.

The Emmy-award-winning Illinois native will perform at the Kirkland Fine Arts Center next month as the 2025 Goodheart Event.

“Having Nick Offerman perform at Millikin is an incredible opportunity. His insights into the arts, craftsmanship, and humor will inspire and resonate with our community,” Director of Kirkland Fine Arts Bryan Diver said. “Nick’s visit is a testament to Millikin’s commitment to providing diverse and enriching experiences for our students and the broader community. We’re excited to hear his stories and wisdom.”

Besides playing Ron Swanson in “Parks and Rec”, Offerman is also known for his Emmy award winning role of Bill in HBO’s “The Last of Us,” and Karl Weathers in the critically acclaimed FX series “Fargo.” Other projects featuring Offerman include “The Umbrella Academy,” “A League of Their Own,” “Pam & Tommy,” and “Making It.”

Outside of acting, Offerman has written 5 New York Times bestselling books, including “Where the Deer and the Antelope Play” and “The Greatest Love Story Ever Told,” written with his wife and fellow actor, Megan Mullally. He also has a woodshop in LA where he has crafted items like spoons, canoes and ukuleles.

The show will take place on Saturday, March 8, 2025, at 7:30 p.m. All Millikin University students, faculty, staff, and Aramark staff can get one ticket free by showing their Millikin ID at the Kirkland Ticket Office.

Students, faculty and staff can purchase additional tickets in person at the Kirkland Ticket Office for a reduced rate before tickets go on sale to the general public on February 20 at 12 p.m. Senior and military discounts are also available.
