LAKE COUNTY, Fla. – A man was killed and another suffered serious injuries in a single-vehicle crash Friday night in Lake County, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

The crash occurred around 10 p.m. on County Road 439 near Live Oak Ranch Road, troopers said.

According to an FHP crash report, a sedan with two occupants — a 28-year-old Belleview man driving and a 29-year-old Crestview man riding as a passenger — was traveling northbound on C.R. 439, approaching Live Oak Ranch Road, when it ran off the roadway to the right for unknown reasons.

The sedan went airborne and struck a tree, troopers said, adding the driver was pronounced dead at the scene and the passenger was hospitalized.

FHP is still investigating.
