LAKE COUNTY, Fla – The Lake County Sheriff’s Office continues to investigate the home that was destroyed by “heavy machinery” on Friday.
By Monday the graffiti message left behind on the side of the home had been removed as well as what appeared to be a cabinet door with a note written on it.
The Lake County Sheriff’s Office launched their investigation on Friday after the mobile home was severely damaged. Officials reported both sides of the residence appeared to have been struck by heavy equipment, though they have not specified the type of machinery used.
A local eyewitness told News 6 the damage may have been caused by a piece of equipment known as a Lull, rather than an excavator. The site has drawn significant attention from people driving by, who have been stopping to take pictures of the damage.
On Friday, the sheriff’s office announced they were searching for Nicole Griner who reportedly lives at the home.
Later that same day, the sheriff’s office said they located both Griner and her boyfriend, Nickolis Dewitt.
Public records from SunBiz show the name Nickolis Dewitt is listed as the registered agent for NTR Excavating.
News 6 looked up the phone number for the company to try and get in touch with Dewitt to see if he had anything to say about the situation.
We also tried reaching out to Griner, but the phone number listed for Griner wasn’t accurate.
No charges have been filed, and authorities have not named any suspects in the case.
