HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY, Fla. – A 39-year-old Orlando man riding a motorcycle through Hillsborough County early Saturday was killed in a crash on Interstate 4, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

The crash occurred around 2 a.m. as the man rode a Yamaha motorcycle eastbound in the center lane of I-4, west of U.S. 301, troopers said.

According to a preliminary FHP crash report, the man was traveling at a high rate of speed when he overturned, entering the inside lane and striking the rear of an Audi Q7.

The motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash, the report states.

Neither the 67-year-old Seminole man driving the Audi nor any of his passengers were injured in the crash, troopers said.
