ORLANDO, Fla. – An Orlando woman has been sentenced to years in prison after her 5-year-old son died with hard drugs in his system, according to court records obtained by News 6.
An affidavit shows that the woman — identified as Glendalis Godreau Torres, 27 — was originally arrested in 2023 following her son’s death in the prior year.
Investigators said that the boy had been found unresponsive in their home on the morning of Aug. 11, 2022.
“(Torres) ran to the victim’s bedroom, since they were going to be late for school, and noticed the victim was stiff, cold to the touch, and his head slightly facing towards the left,” the affidavit reads. “She started doing chest compressions on the victim and yelled at her boyfriend to get the keys of the vehicle to drive to the hospital.”

However, the boy died after being rushed to the hospital, court documents state. Toxicology reports revealed that he had cocaine, morphine and a “large amount of fentanyl” in his system.
Upon a search of Torres’ phone and texts, investigators said they discovered she had been storing and selling narcotics at her home.

In fact, one witness even told investigators that the witness had bought, taken and overdosed at Torres’ home around five months before the boy’s death, the affidavit says.
“In addition, the constant drug transactions performed via text messages were before and after the death of the victim,” the affidavit continues.
As a result, Torres was ultimately charged with aggravated manslaughter of a child. She pleaded no contest to the charge earlier this month and was sentenced to six years in prison.
