ORLANDO, Fla. – In a tribute to former Orlando Mayor Glenda Hood, the city is set to rename a park along the scenic Lake Baldwin this Friday.
The event, scheduled to begin at 10:30 a.m., will see Harbor Park officially take on its new name, as detailed on the city’s website.
The city issued a statement highlighting Hood’s significant contributions to Orlando’s development and legacy.
Hood first took office as Orlando’s mayor in 1992, serving three consecutive terms. She later contributed over a decade to the Orlando City Council and held the position of Florida Secretary of State from 2003 to 2005.
