In a tragic incident that unfolded late Saturday night, a 29-year-old man from Orlando lost his life after being struck by an SUV in Orange County, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

The accident occurred at approximately 10:15 p.m. on Silver Star Road, situated east of N. Hiawassee Road. Troopers have detailed that the man was running north when he unexpectedly entered the westbound lanes of Silver Star Road.

The collision involved a 2024 Honda CR-V, driven by a 20-year-old resident of Orlando. As the pedestrian ran into the path of the oncoming SUV, the unfortunate crash occurred, as noted in the official crash report from the FHP.

Emergency services quickly transported the injured man to the hospital, where he was sadly pronounced dead. Following the incident, the driver of the SUV, unharmed, remained at the scene and cooperated with authorities.

The SUV’s driver was not injured and remained at the scene.

FHP is still investigating.
