Overdose Call Gets Out of Control – Officers Save Desperate Patient

What started as a sadly all-too-routine report of an overdose on Grant Street quickly spun out of control on Tuesday.

Portsmouth Police Officers and EMS responded to a report that a man had overdosed and was unresponsive.

Then police arrived on the scene, and they say the man attempted to harm himself right in front of them. Police helped restrain the man in an ambulance and rode with him to the hospital for treatment.

Man Busted For Drugs on Gallia Street

Just after 10 pm, witnesses reported a suspicious white vehicle with two people inside in the 6200 block of Gallia. The caller said two people had been inside the vehicle for quite a long time.

When officers arrived on the scene, they discovered a man with an open warrant from the Scioto County Sheriff’s Office.

They arrested him for probation violation and also for drug abuse and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was booked into the Scioto County Jail.
