In Tattnall County, Georgia, a pedestrian was flown to Memorial Hospital on Saturday following an accident involving an SUV.
The accident occurred around 2:58 p.m. when an SUV heading east on Highway 196, near Rogers Road, struck a male pedestrian.
According to the Georgia State Patrol (GSP), the pedestrian was standing on the south side of the highway. He attempted to cross the road without yielding to the oncoming SUV, which led to the collision. The man sustained serious injuries and was subsequently airlifted to Memorial Hospital for treatment.
The three adults in the SUV were unharmed, and no charges have been brought against the driver.
The incident resulted in the temporary closure of Highway 196 until 4:20 p.m., with assistance from both the Tattnall County Sheriff’s Office and Long County Sheriff’s Office in managing and redirecting traffic during the investigation.
