Power pole catches fire, causes temporary outage in Philo

CHAMPAIGN COUNTY, Ill. (WCIA) — On Wednesday morning, over 250 residents in a Champaign County area experienced a power outage after a power pole ignited.

The Philo Fire Protection District responded to the scene near the junction of 1000N and 1800E in Philo at approximately 5:30 a.m. Upon arrival, firefighters discovered that the burning pole was actually situated just east of 1000N and 1700E.
