A legislative proposal has been introduced in Florida, targeting a cap on the number of international students permitted to enroll in state colleges and universities. This initiative, spearheaded by a state representative from Pinellas County, was filed on Wednesday with the intent to prioritize local and national students.

“This isn’t an unfamiliar concept. If I were to study abroad, I wouldn’t expect to be prioritized over local citizens,” explained Representative Berny Jacques. “The bill proposes a 10% enrollment limit for international students.”
