PLANT CITY, Fla. (WFLA)— Planes, Trains, and Automobiles celebration returns to the Plant City Airport this weekend.

The 13th annual celebration will start at 10 a.m. and go until 3 p.m. on Saturday at the Plant City Airport, the Tampa Bay Aviation Association said.

The celebration will feature an aircraft display, car show, model train setups, radio-controlled flight demonstration, and more.

The Tampa Bay Aviation Association organizes the event and aims to educate the attendees about how the aviation industry and other modes of transportation work.

“This is an event that is truly for everyone of all ages. Personally, I loved the wide display of different operating train models and the aircraft. The interaction was entertaining and informative with an endless number of displays and booths!” Max Defender 8 Meteorologist Amanda Holly said.

Some hands-on activities include:

  • Flight simulators
  • STEM exhibits from Sun ‘n Fun’s Aerospace Center for Excellence
  • Young Eagles discovery flights conducted by the Plant City Experimental Aircraft Association Chapter 1178
  • Bounce houses
  • Pinewood Derby

Food trucks and local vendors will also be in attendance and a LEGO transportation display.

Proceeds from the event this year will fund scholarships for flight and mechanical training, and aviation career education for local youth, TBAA said.

Tickets can be purchased online for $7.25 or at the gate for $12. Children under 10 are free as well as parking.
