Plum Street closing in Danville for stormwater improvements

DANVILLE, Ill. (WCIA) — A portion of Plum Street in Danville is set to close for approximately two weeks to allow for stormwater improvements to take place.

On Friday, the City of Danville announced that a complete closure of Plum Street from Williams Street to Clarence Street will take place starting on Monday, Sept. 22 at 7 a.m. This closure is happening in order for stormwater improvements to take place.

Additionally, this closure will allow for local traffic only in this area. It is anticipated that the streets will reopen to through traffic approximately two weeks after the closure is put into effect.

When the closure begins, drivers are asked to use alternate routes to avoid delays. Motorists and pedestrians are also urged to use caution when driving near the roadway closure corridors.
