CASEY, Ill. (WCIA) — The Casey Police Department is investigating after the concession stands of two local youth sports organizations were broken into overnight on Wednesday.
The Casey Girls Softball Association took to Facebook to share that their stand and crow’s nest were broken into and ransacked Wednesday night or Thursday morning. Because of this, concessions will be limited for the league’s last evening of softball on Thursday.
In response to the softball association’s post, Brian Rhoads, a board member for Casey-Westfield Youth Baseball, posted in that league’s community Facebook page that their stand was also broken into. Their concessions on Thursday and Monday will be similarly limited.
Adam Henderson, Casey’s Chief of Police, confirmed with WCIA on Thursday that his department is investigating the break-ins, but he could not provide further details as the police reports are incomplete.
Anyone who has information about the break-ins is asked to contact board members from either league or the Casey Police Department. The CWYB board is offering a $2,560 reward for anyone whose information leads to an arrest.
“We WILL press any and all charges that we can,” Rhodes wrote on Facebook. “This is not the first time this has happened but we want to make sure it is the last.”
