Estimated $500,000 in drugs seized in Aiken County, arrest made

AIKEN, S.C. () – The Aiken County Sheriff’s said Narcotics Investigators have dismantled a “major drug operation” after a seizure on May 6.

Police said they began investigating after they received a tip of a large pallet from California being shipped to North Augusta possibly containing marijuana. According to ACSO, multiple strands of raw Marijuana and several thousand Marijuana THC infused gummies and vape pens were seized with an estimated street value of $500,000.

Deputies arrested 23-year-old George Huntington of Warrenville and charged him with Trafficking in Marijuana.

According to police, the items seized are as follows:

  • 70 pounds of Hybrid marijuana
  • 5 pounds of marijuana resin
  • 2,500 THC infused gummies
  • 5,000 THC vape pens

“This is a significant victory in our ongoing fight against the illegal drug trade and we will continue to work with our community, local, state, and federal partners to keep our streets safe,” the sheriff’s office said in a statement.

The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and the North Augusta Department of Public Safety assisted ACSO in the case.
