In Johnson City, Tennessee, a man faces serious charges following a police operation that involved an electronics detection dog. Jeffrey Goodman, aged 59, was apprehended on Thursday by the special victims unit of the Johnson City Police Department (JCPD), accused of aggravated sexual exploitation of a minor.
The arrest was the result of a cyber-tip received from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, which prompted investigators to secure a search warrant for Goodman’s residence. The search was conducted Thursday morning, involving K9 Buck, a specially trained dog capable of detecting electronic storage devices.
According to the JCPD’s news release, the search led to the seizure of multiple electronic items including laptops, a mobile phone, storage devices, and a television. These items are now subject to detailed analysis to uncover potential evidence.
The search warrant was executed on Thursday morning, and the JCPD stated K9 Buck, who is trained in electronic storage detection, assisted in the search.
“During the search, they seized numerous electronics items including laptop computers, a phone, storage devices, and a television,” the release states. “All items will be analyzed for evidence.”
According to the JCPD, Goodman could face more charges. He was transported to the Washington County Detention Center.
