Police in Thomson caught three teenagers breaking into cars, and they found a 13-year-old suspect with a gun.

THOMSON, Ga. () – On January 15th, around 10 pm, Thomson Police Department received a call to the area of Fluker Street about unknown subjects trying to break into vehicles.

While en route, Officers received an update that the female caller was chasing the subjects down Johns Road.

Officers were able to locate 3 juvenile suspects, a 13-year-old, 14-year-old, and 15-year-old, near the House of God church on Jackson Road and were taken into custody without further incident and transported to CID.

Authorities say the 13-year-old also had a 9 mm gun on him.

All 3 juveniles were charged with Entering an Auto and the 13-year-old was also charged with the firearm.

The 13 and 14-year-olds were transported to RYDC while the 15-year-old was released to a guardian. 2 of the 3 juveniles are connected to a theft of a vehicle that happened on Hillcrest at the end of last year.

This case is still under investigation and further charges are possibly coming from this incident plus other previous incidents.

Police advise residents to keep vehicles locked and free of valuables.
