UPDATED: Four people found dead at a Bloomington house, police say

UPDATE (8 p.m.) — Bloomington police now say four people were found dead at a house on Lee Street.

Bryce Janssen, a Bloomington police spokesman, said “four people were pronounced deceased at the scene by the McLean County Coroner’s Office. Identification of the deceased will not be released until the next of kin are notified.”

He stressed that it appears the deaths were an “isolated” incident and there is no threat to the public.

“Our thoughts and prayers are with the families and friends of those who lost their lives today. Our detectives continue to diligently investigate this unfortunate incident in an effort to get
some answers for the victims’ loved ones and our community,” said Police Chief Jamal Simington in the release.

The deaths were at a house in the 900 block of North Lee Street. Police have not released a cause of death or any further details.

Bloomington police investigate death discovered at a residence

BLOOMINGTON, Ill. (WMBD) — At least one person was found dead inside a Bloomington residence Sunday.

The Bloomington Police Department, as well as paramedics, were called to the 900 block of North Lee Street at 10:59 a.m. Feb. 23, for a death investigation, said Officer Janssen.

“Upon arrival, officers located the victim(s) and requested the Criminal Investigations Division and the McLean County Coroner’s Office to the scene,” said Janssen.

The identity of the deceased is not being released until the family is notified, he said.

The incident is under investigation; no further information was immediately available.
