Trump Predicts Resolution with Iran Within Two to Three Weeks

In a recent statement from the Oval Office, President Donald Trump announced that the United States plans to withdraw from Iran within the next two to three weeks. This timeline is notably shorter than the four to six weeks previously communicated by the administration.

During the signing of an executive order, Trump elaborated on the situation, saying, “I would say within two weeks, maybe three. We’re hitting them very hard. Last night, we knocked out tremendous amounts of missile-making facilities.” His comments suggest significant progress in the U.S. military operations in the region.

Despite the aggressive stance, Trump left the door open for negotiations. “It’s possible that we’ll make a deal before that,” he remarked. “If they come to the table, that’ll be good. But it doesn’t matter whether they come or not, we’ve set them back,” he added, emphasizing the impact of the recent military actions.

For weeks, the administration has maintained that the U.S. engagement in Iran would extend for four to six weeks, and the operation is currently entering its fifth week. The revised timeline indicates an expedited conclusion to the U.S. presence, potentially altering the strategic landscape in the region.

The administration has repeatedly said the U.S.’s operation in Iran will last four to six weeks. It is currently in its fifth week.

Trump said he had one goal in Iran, which was getting them to not have a nuclear weapon, “and that goal has been attained.”

When asked what his plan was to bring down gas prices, which have risen since the start of the operation in Iran due to the effective closure of the Strait of Hormuz, Trump said, “All I have to do is leave Iran.”

“They’ll come tumbling down,” he said.

The strait usually sees the passage of 20 million barrels of oil and petroleum products a day, but supply has been cut off except for a limited number of ships.

Trump said, however, that he “heard tremendous numbers of ships were sailing through” and that negotiations continue.
