(NEXSTAR) — This year, Tuesday, November 11, holds dual significance, one aspect of which will spare you a journey to the post office.
The date marks Veterans Day, a time dedicated to paying tribute to those who have served in the armed forces. As a recognized federal holiday, this means all post offices will not operate on that day.
The U.S. Postal Service, which Postmaster General and CEO David Steiner notes as “one of the largest civilian employers of America’s veterans,” will only be dispatching Priority Mail Express on Tuesday. However, self-service kiosks located in select post offices across the country will remain operational, allowing customers to purchase stamps, print postage, weigh and mail parcels, and track shipments.
Meanwhile, other courier services such as FedEx, UPS, and Amazon will continue their operations as usual on Tuesday.
