BRYAN COUNTY, Ga. – In an emergency meeting held on Tuesday, the Bryan County Commissioners decided to initiate an investigation into potential contamination issues at the former Caesarstone site.

The property in question is situated in Belfast Commerce Park, a location that is less than three miles away from nearby schools and residential areas.

During a town hall meeting on Monday, hosted by Westwin Elements, the company’s CEO, KaLeigh Long, expressed a desire to clean up the site after purchasing it. Long pointed out existing contamination concerns. However, the county has maintained that the responsibility for remediation lies with Caesarstone.
