CHAMPAIGN, Ill. (WCIA) — Valentine’s Day is the holiday of love, but people in nursing homes don’t always get to celebrate with others. However, Friday morning a group of preschoolers made sure they did this year.
Kids from Little Legends Learning Center came to Evergreen Senior Living in Champaign to give out valentines they made. The cards had their names written on them and art they drew themselves. People living at Evergreen said they were happy to get them.
“Valentine’s Day to me means lots of love,” said Evergreen resident William Plymire. “They’re nice, they cut out valentines and pasted them on the front. This one here put ‘Happy Valentine’s Day.'”
But the kids didn’t leave empty-handed. The seniors gave them candy for their kindness.
