SAVANNAH, Ga. — Prepare for another brisk night ahead, with the prospect of a chilly Sunday morning and minimal rain expected as the weekend draws to a close.

Saturday dawned with a crisp chill, as many inland areas saw temperatures plunge into the 30s, while the official low at SAV registered at 42°. Despite the cold start, abundant sunshine graced the Coastal Empire and Lowcountry, ushering in November with daytime highs climbing to the upper 60s.

As Sunday morning approaches, brace for another bout of cold weather, with overnight lows anticipated in the 40s across most regions. Some cloud cover moving in later should prevent temperatures from dipping too drastically. Light northeast winds will mark the beginning of the day, increasing to a breezy 5 to 15 mph by the afternoon.

Ahead of a swiftly approaching cold front, cloud cover will increase, leading to predominantly cloudy skies by the afternoon. Temperatures are expected to climb to the upper 60s and lower 70s. There is about a 20% chance of passing showers during the afternoon and evening, with the possibility of rain persisting into early Monday.

The front will not bring a cooldown to the area or any significant rain. Expect a more mild start to Monday, with mostly cloudy skies early giving way to mostly sunny skies in the afternoon. The rest of the workweek will be quite pleasant, with cool mornings in the upper-40s and lower-50s and afternoons in the 70s under plenty of sunshine.

Rain chances are out of the picture for much of the week with the next opportunity coming as early as next weekend.

The tropics are quiet at this time with no tropical cyclone formation expected over the next week. Long-range guidance suggests the possibility of development in the Southwestern Caribbean Sea, but this is not officially in any outlooks from the National Hurricane Center. There are no tropical threats to the Coastal Empire or Lowcountry at this time.
