Clothing retailer Primark announces plan to open in Augusta Mall

AUGUSTA, Ga. () – Primark, an international clothing retailer, announced its intent to open its first store in the state of Georgia at the Augusta Mall on Tuesday.

According to a press release sent on March 25, said it plans to expand to the Southern part of the United States. Headquartered in Ireland, the Primark said it the locations will showcase a “blend of trendy fashion, everyday essentials for the whole family, stylish homewares, and beauty products.”

“We are proud to introduce Primark to South Carolina and Georgia for the first time, while also strengthening our presence in Texas, on the heels of our first opening in the state late last year,” said Kevin Tulip, President of Primark US. 

The announcement comes as another clothing retailer in Augusta Mall, Forever21, plans to close at the end of the month. Forever 21 filed for bankruptcy and plans to close all U.S. locations nationwide this spring.
