RANTOUL, Ill. (WCIA) — An enduring tribute is being created in Rantoul to honor a legendary group of pilots whose legacy has inspired generations worldwide.
The non-profit organization, Helping Our Youth Change Everyday (HOYCE), is dedicated to equipping young people with essential life skills. They are now spearheading a mural project to commemorate the Tuskegee Airmen. This artwork will be the initial portrayal of the World War II aviators who began their historic journey at the Chanute Air Force Base. The aim is to complete the mural by the Fourth of July, aligning with the celebration of America’s 250th anniversary.
