In Horry County, South Carolina, renowned rapper Desiigner, whose real name is Sidney Royel Selby III, faced arrest earlier this week, police records reveal. The artist, celebrated for his chart-toppers “Panda” and “Timmy Turner,” found himself charged with third-degree domestic violence.
Selby encountered the legal system when he was taken into custody at the J. Reuben Long Detention Center on Monday. By Tuesday, he had secured his release on a $1,500 bond.
The incident unfolded on March 2 when law enforcement responded to a domestic disturbance call at a home on Arbor Ridge Circle in the Conway region. According to an arrest warrant, Selby is accused of forcefully removing car keys from the pocket of his child’s mother and subsequently pushing her to the ground during the confrontation.
The altercation reportedly left the woman with minor injuries, including scratches and bleeding on her arm and lower back, as detailed in the warrant.
Desiigner rose to fame with “Panda,” a track that has surpassed 800 million views on YouTube and earned a Grammy nomination in 2017. His follow-up hit, “Timmy Turner,” has also captured significant attention, garnering over 200 million views on the platform.
