HILTON HEAD ISLAND, S.C. — As the RBC Heritage approaches its 58th edition, anticipation is building on Hilton Head Island. With just 50 days remaining, the renowned golf tournament is ready to showcase the results of a substantial $20 million restoration project on its course. The restoration aimed to faithfully restore the course to the original vision of its acclaimed designer, Pete Dye.

The RBC Heritage holds a special place as South Carolina’s sole PGA signature event, bringing significant economic benefits to the region. It boasts an impressive economic impact of $134 million. Furthermore, the PGA has recognized this event as the “Most Fan-First Event” for 2025, underscoring its commitment to delivering an exceptional experience for golf enthusiasts.

In a statement, tournament director Steve Wilmot highlighted the enhanced spectator experience planned for this year’s tournament. “There are bleachers on every hole of the golf course,” he noted. “In recent years, we might have shifted our focus more towards sponsors, who are undeniably crucial to us. However, ensuring a remarkable experience for the everyday spectator is equally important.”

Wilmot also assured that preparations for this year’s event are progressing smoothly and remain on track, setting the stage for a memorable tournament that honors both tradition and innovation.

Wilmot went on to say preparations for this year’s tournament are on schedule.

The announcement were made during a ceremony at the tournament’s annual Sponsor and Media Day.
