In a recent development, cottage cheese available at Walmart in 24 states is being recalled due to potential concerns over the pasteurization of liquid dairy ingredients. This announcement came from the company earlier this week.
According to a recall notification from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, as of February 24, no illnesses have been linked to the recalled cottage cheese. However, products that are not fully pasteurized could pose “significant health risks,” particularly for young children, the elderly, and those with compromised immune systems.
The cottage cheese in question is produced by Saputo Cheese USA Inc. and marketed under Walmart’s Great Value brand.
